7:30pm Layer de la Haye Annual Meeting of Parishioners (AMP) and Annual Parochial Church Meeting (APCM)
at St John the Baptist, Layer de la Haye.
At the AMP, which is open to all parishioners, there will be the election of churchwardens for the forthcoming year. This is followed by the APCM at which elections are held to fill vacancies on the Parochial Church Council (PCC); those on the church's electoral roll are entitled to vote. Finally, there is a closed meeting of the newly-constituted PCC to transact other essential business.

Sunday, 25th May 2025 SIXTH SUNDAY OF EASTER • ROGATION
From 8:30am Layer Parishes Rogation Walk & Worship
This event will be in place of the usual Sunday morning services in the Layer parishes.
Everyone is very welcome to join us, either for the whole event or just for part(s) of it. The walk is a good companionable stroll and dogs are welcome! On the way there will be the blessing of a farmyard, gardens and fields.
Those who are unable to walk, or prefer not to, are very welcome to travel by car and join us for refreshment and worship at one or more of the three churches on our route.
We start at around 8:30am at St Mary the Virgin, Layer Marney (CO5 9UR). Arrangements will be made, after lunch at Layer de la Haye, to transport drivers back to Layer Marney to collect their cars.
From 8:30am a light breakfast will be served at Layer Marney. This will be followed by a short act of worship in the church.
We then walk over the fields to St Mary the Virgin, Layer Breton (CO2 0PW). At Layer Breton there will be light refreshments followed by a second short act of worship.
From Layer Breton we walk across fields to St John the Baptist, Layer de la Haye (CO2 0EW). Arriving here around 12 noon, we meet in church for a service of Holy Communion.
We usually end our Rogation Walk & Worship with a lunch together of some sort. Details will be posted here nearer the time.
